The SmartServer IoT mounts to a 35mm x 7.5mm or 35mm x 15mm DIN rail (also known as a TS35 rail). The rear of the SmartServer IoT enclosure contains a spring-loaded DIN rail lock, which securely grabs the DIN rail on which the enclosure is mounted. To release the enclosure from the DIN rail, insert a flathead screwdriver into the DIN rail locking tab and gently pull the tab downwards and away from the enclosure. The following figures display dimensions of the SmartServer IoT from the top and side. All units are in millimeters.

Warning: The SmartServer must be mounted vertically as shown in the picture above to ensure adequate cooling.  The SmartServer does not have an internal fan and relies on natural air flow to cool the processor.  Air flow can be inadequate if the SmartServer is mounted horizontally, for example if it is located on a table top.

Mounting the U70 PL-20

The U70 PL-20 mounts to a 35mm x 7.5mm or 35mm x 15mm DIN rail. The rear of the U70 PL enclosure contains a spring-loaded DIN rail lock, which securely grabs the DIN rail on which the enclosure is mounted. To release the enclosure from the DIN rail, insert a flathead screwdriver into the DIN rail locking tab and gently pull the tab downwards and away from the enclosure.

Note: The U70 PL-20 mounts to the left of SmartServer IoT with the included USB cable (as shown in the figure below). If a different mounting configuration is needed, you will need to supply your own USB cable.

Refer to U70 PL-20 USB Network Interface Module for more information about the U70 PL-20.

Mount the IOX

The IOX mounts to a 35mm x 7.5mm or 35mm x 15mm DIN rail. The rear of the IOX enclosure contains a spring-loaded DIN rail lock, which securely grabs the DIN rail to which the enclosure is mounted. To release the enclosure from the DIN rail, insert a flathead screwdriver into the DIN rail locking tab and gently pull the tab downwards and away from the enclosure. The following figures display dimensions of the IOX from the top and side.

After mounting your SmartServer, connect to AC or DC power as described in Provide Power to Your SmartServer.

Refer to IOX I/O Expansion Module for more information about the IOX.
